We build our pond in 1994 back behind our office.  I had been keeping small koi and plants in the back area which had previously been a vegetable garden.  Our property used to be three residential lots and this one was the property furthest to the North and behind the house that was converted to an office a number of years before we moved in.

After we dug the hole we had a rain storm and the clay hole filled up with water. That is a very strange situation around here because the Carolina red clay usually is very tight and takes days or weeks to drain.  This clay is a little more yellow and drained overnight.

We had the luxury of having lots of strong young people around so we just all grabbed "aholdt" of the liner and carried it in.  We have since learned that if you make multiple folds the liner and find its center point, you can then place it in the center of the pond; and when you unfold it, it will be in the correct place.   I took the picture.

We have slides of this and have to get them made into prints.
